Wildfire threatens 15 structures in N.J., officials say

A wildfire in Evesham Township in Burlington County has burned through several acres on Wednesday and risks nearby buildings, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.
The fire has burned through several acres in the area of Sycamore Avenue in Evesham Township already as firefighters work to contain the blaze, officials said.
The fire is expected to be contained at 40 acres thanks to backfiring, a process of burning up dry vegetation ahead of he fire so that it cannot spread, officials said.
No evacuations have been issued and no roads in the area have been closed, according to officials.
An update on the status of the fire is expected at 7 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.
